Karen Curtis could be the most uniquely qualified woman in South Florida media to anchor a weekend talk radio show.
Her program “Weekends with Karen Curtis” spans topics impacting us here in South Florida. From hurricane protection to healthy living, Karen will touch all the bases with expert guests and lively conversation.
Karen has worked in radio and television for 25 years. She was a main television anchor and health specialist for fifteen years on ABC affiliates in Gainesville and West Palm Beach. For 10 years, Karen was inside a helicopter reporting on traffic and breaking news for NBC 6-Miami. Karen’s helicopter expertise took her to New York City where she flew for WCBS.
When Karen Curtis served as Director of Operations for Metro Networks in South Florida, she supervised a radio and television broadcast team that reported News, Weather and Traffic information on almost every radio and TV outlet in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale.
Karen is also a watercolor artist who paints the South Florida environment and stylized women of passion. Her paintings have been shown from Hawaii to London. Karen attended the University of Hawaii on a full scholarship as a world-class runner. USA Today named her “The Fastest Woman in Hawaii.”
