WEATHER - WFTL Meteorologist

Rob Carolan
Rob Carolan is a native of Mahopac, NY, a small town just outside of New York City. Rob’s interest in weather dates back to his childhood when he saw lightning strike a tree at the age of 5.

After getting his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, Rob worked for the National Buoy Data Center in southern Mississippi doing data quality control. After that, he left to work for Weather Services Corporation (WSC) in New England. That’s where he started doing weather forecasts for radio stations all around the U.S.

After 10 years, Rob started his own weather company, Hometown Forecast Services.

Rob and his group of meteorologists are the WFTL Weather Center, staffing our operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and go into extra service mode as hurricanes develop and begin to approach South Florida. Rob’s hurricane forecasts are the most accurate in South Florida, with his predications surpassing local TV weather forecasters and even the National Hurricane Center.

Rob is a HUGE Dolphins fan with his office filled with memorabilia. In fact, Rob attended Dan Marino’s induction into the Hall of Fame in Canton, OH back in 2005.
