THE STACY RITTER REPORT

We hope Stacy will be back on the air soon!

Broward County Mayor and former Florida State Representative Stacy Ritter debuted on WFTL back in August of 2007.  That was shortly after Stacy was thrust into the worldwide spotlight over comments she made about Broward County, FL, selecting a radio station that airs “The Rush Limbaugh Program” as the county’s “Official Emergency Information Station.”  Stacy, a staunch activist and progressive, didn’t think it was a good idea.  "They have every right to speak, but we don't have to do business with them," said Ritter.

Limbaugh, on his radio show, called her “a babe.”  “Yes, I heard that Rush Limbaugh called me a ‘babe.’  I wish I could say ‘ditto,’” says Stacy.

On Stacy's second radio show on WFTL, she did a live remote broadcast from a fundraiser in Parkland for a little known U.S. Senator that was hoping to run for President.  His name was Barack Obama!  Stacy has been a huge supporter and fan for a long timeand was able to get him live on her show while he was here in South Florida.

Stacy is nearly a South Florida native, moving here from Washington DC in 1974 and graduating from Piper High School in Sunrise.  She has a Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern College of Law.  Stacy was a community activist for years with the National Council of Jewish Women and other organizations before taking her activism to a new level in 1996 when she ran for and won a seat in the Florida House of Representatives.   She was forced to leave her post due to term limits.  She was elected to the Broward County Commission in November of 2006.

Stacy was often a spokesperson for the Democratic Party while in Tallahassee over her 8 years as a representative.  Her fellow party members knew she had no problem voicing her liberal viewpoint!  She is the same way, outspoken, on the radio.

“I want people to be informed about local Broward County issues.  Syndicated talk show hosts know nothing about us.  They don’t live in Broward County; they don’t work here; and they have little knowledge of what’s important to us.  That’s why I think a talk show that allows us to address all issues from a local perspective is necessary.”

“The Stacy Ritter Report” allows me, and others who share my point of view, to have a voice,” says Ritter. “Believe me I’ve learned that sometimes when you speak your mind, you get worldwide attention.  Other times, no one hears a word you say!”

“The Stacy Ritter Report” is on hiatus for a while, but we hope Stacy will be back on the air soon
